A Week in Art V

I might have possibly, most assuredly, 100% matter-of-factly changed my views on "graffiti." I may want to discuss this at a later date.

For now, sketches and things to round out the week...

Love the prints and the sketches on the atlas. Clever and potent.

The maps are like instant ambient color...On a trip through the dessert near the Grand Canyon I began to notice a lot of old american trucks. The dessert air is kind to these dinosaurs and the pigment in their paint jobs stays saturated. I started to think how odd the colors were. Sort of like neutral easter eggs. Eventually when you travel through the dessert in a car with no air conditioning you begin to do a little conditioning of your own. My conditioning centered in my eyes and I began to notice how the colors of the trucks were starting to reflect the different colors used for individual regions on the map. This map territory phenomenon eventually bled over from the trucks and into the soil and rocks and eventually whole swaths of land, whole canyons and mesas became giant muted easter eggs.
